Got a picture of the Crystal River Power plant today. It is an incredible sight, it does not look like anything else in its surrounding environment. The town of Crystal River is mostly an old Florida kind of town with lots of natural habitats, but the power plant looks very odd in a modern not of this world kind of way.

P.K. Yonge pitcher Alex Mikkelsen has impossible pitching mechanics but they work great. He has a body stutter about half way through is pitching delivery where he hides the baseball behind his glove, then as his body swings forward he brings his arm back up and delivers. His fastball moves at about 60 MPH but seems much faster because his arm motion and ball hiding technique really confuses batters. - See for yourself.

Scenes from one of my favorite events of the year. The Friends of the Alachua County Library book sale at the Junior League building in Gainesville. Tomorrow is half-price day, so if you have a chance stop by and help the local library raise some extra cash(especially during this time of budget slashing by the state.) they have thousands of great books, Cd's, DVDs at unbelievable prices. Most books are 25 cents to $1.00. Have fun if you go.

Fort White High School pitcher Taylor Douglas has a bright future on the diamond. Playing varsity softball as an eighth-grader she already has a dominating mound presence and a very nasty hard rising fastball that is almost unhittable.

It looks like she has all the skills to be an all-state pitcher in the coming years.

Here are some pictures I took during the NCAA Women's Final Four basketball Championship this weekend in Tampa Florida. I am including pictures of the Nike High School All American game and the NCAA Hoops city festivities. Oh and the two young women in the white warm up suites playing a game of 21 are all world power forwards Courtney Paris and Erlana Larkins. We had a blast, enjoy the pictures.
